About Me

Hi! I’m Leslie. I am married to Colby, my high school sweetheart and best friend of 20 years, and together we have two kids (Kenley is 7 and Abel is 4). We recently moved our family from a small town in Ohio to southwest Florida and are getting adjusted to a much warmer climate. I have been a teacher for 14 years before our move and now find myself able to work on my passion: fashion.

Both of my parents were teachers, and for a time growing up, my mom stayed home to teach my brother and I. So we always lived frugally But, my mother also loved clothes (specifically shoes), and we often shopped together. My mom didn’t always buy many clothes, but she did like to “window shop.” She would often go through a store and point out pieces that she liked and talk about what she could wear with that piece, even if she had no intention of buying it.

Fast forward to 2014, when my daughter, Kenley, was 1, and I found myself not quite looking forward to going back into the classroom after having the summer off to spend with her. I followed some instagram accounts that posted fashion challenges and thought “hey, I can do that!” So in August 2014, OneTeachersStyle was born. I found that by participating in the fashion challenges, I was excited to get dressed and go to work. Fashion gave me the spark I needed; it brought a new excitedment and I had fun getting dressed and posting my outfits. From there, my instagram account grew and so did my love of clothes.

I love finding deals and I love taking one piece and styling it multiple ways (thanks, mom). I also love mixing classy, feminine pieces with casual or edgy pieces. And lastly, I believe that what is on the inside counts more that what you wear on the outside, BUT I also believe that when you look good, you feel good, and that you are worthy of feeling good.
